The egg is the healthiest food in the world!

They are not only tasty but also contain many vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that have a positive effect on the functioning of the entire body. Eggs have so many uses. They are very popular in many cuisines around the world. Fried eggs, soft-boiled eggs, hard-boiled eggs, stuffed eggs, scrambled eggs… What are your favorites?

How is it so healthy?

Eggs contain almost all the ingredients your body needs to function properly. Most of the nutrients are in the yolk. Egg white is mostly protein.

It is also worth mentioning that they contain vitamins such as vitamin D, K, E, and B6, as well as calcium, zinc, iron, and potassium. Eggs are also a great source of protein because they contain all the essential amino acids in the right proportions. Getting the right amount of protein in your diet is very important. It is the main building block of the body.

Good for your brain

Eggs also contain a little-known, but very important ingredient for the proper functioning of the brain. It is choline. Its deficiency can be associated with serious diseases related to heart, liver, and neurological disorders. And what do lutein and zeaxanthin protect us from? These are very important antioxidants that have a positive effect on our eyesight. If you don’t want to have vision problems in old age – eat eggs often!

Have you heard that eggs can help you lose weight? They contain only trace amounts of carbohydrates. After eating eggs, the feeling of satiety is also long. One egg (approx. 56 g) contains about 80 calories (60 kcal yolk, 20 kcal protein). It’s very low in calories. Eggs are often considered fattening due to the way they are eaten, such as eggs with bacon or eggs in mayonnaise.

Although eggs are very healthy, you should not eat them in excess. They contain a lot of good ingredients, but also cholesterol. How many eggs can a healthy person eat per week? According to the World Health Organization (WHO), you can eat up to 10 eggs a week without worrying about your health (including the egg contained in cakes, pasta, etc.). Also, remember that a soft-boiled egg is easier to digest than a hard-boiled egg.

Where to buy the best eggs?

The provenance of the eggs is also quite important. Are farm eggs better? Yes, much better! Their taste, of course, depends on the diet and quality of life of the hens. They are the tastiest in spring when the hen feeds on young grass. Now you can also buy eggs with a reduced amount of fat. They are obtained by feeding hens with fat-free fodder, with the addition of vitamins or algae. We should choose the products we eat consciously. This also applies to eggs. We recommend eggs from happy country hens!

Few people know that eggs relieve hangover symptoms because they contain cysteine – an amino acid that speeds up metabolism and removes toxins.

An interesting fact is that the eggshell is also healthy and many people still add ground eggshells to their meals. It has bone-strengthening properties and thus prevents osteoporosis.

Do you still have doubts that eggs are great? Bon Appetit!

P.S. Did you know that World Egg Day is celebrated on the second Friday of October?
